We will deliver everything you need right to your doorstep, set it up, provide food and beverage service, and attend to the needs of your guests.

The MS GranPrix drew talented cyclist from across the country. They came determined to race their best and wow the spectators. Even for those unfamiliar with professional cycling, it was fascinating to watch as they sped through downtown and the surrounding communities.

Thank you to The Human Performance Center and other outstanding sponsors for bringing the MS GranPrix to Brookhaven again this year.

A generous donation was raised for Blair E Batson Hospital for Children through the MS GranPrix and the 1st Annual MS GranPrix Race Festival. Congratulations to the cyclists who were at their best and we hope to see you all again next year.

Many things about Colby has changed over the last year...taller, a deeper voice...our adopted son is growing up. One thing that has not changed however is his fighting spirit and great desire to enjoy everything life has to offer. Thanks to God, Colby remains cancer free and in good health.

Caring members of our community came out in force to welcome Colby back to Brookhaven. Officer Kenny Collins of the City of Brookhaven Police Department made Colby a Junior Police Officer and presented Colby with a badge. Colby was jokingly informed, however, that this did not give him authority to detain the beauty queen. Mayor Massengill welcomed Colby home as the mayor had made Colby an Honorary Citizen of Brookhaven last year. Mr. Smith of Trustmark presented Colby with tickets to see the Mississippi Braves; we all know how much Colby loves the Braves. Mr. Tom Monroe of State Bank voiced all of our joy at Colby's good health and courageous spirit. Dr. Donna Foster, incoming President of the Lion's Club of Brookhaven, presented a generous donation to Blair E Batson and thanked them for the excellent care they give our children. Tomas War Cloud Bandaries awarded Colby with his treasured Spanish guitar and elevated Colby's rank from Lieutenant to Colonel. Other generous members of our community made private, and greatly appreciated, donations to Blair E Batson. Above all, I think Colby was most excited about his carriage ride through Brookhaven with Southwest Mississippi Outstanding Teen, Kelsey Ann Jackson, provided by Mr. Freddie Harveston.

A moment of prayer was given for Emily Barber who, at the time of the Welcome Party, was at Blair E Batson. The prayer for Emily's health and family was lead by Officer Collins and touched everyone present at the fragility of our children.

The party atmosphere continued with the 1st Annual MS GranPrix Race Festival. The Festival provided a fun, family-friendly environment from which to watch the Bank of Brookhaven Criterium race through Historic Downtown Brookhaven. Thanks to those who helped organize and fund the Festival through their hard work and donations. These include Columbus Lumber, Keith and Stephanie Gatlin of Lott Furniture, Pat and Celeste Lowery, Mr. Charlie's Fun Jumps, Terry and Hollie Pappas, Brother Wall of Providence Baptist Church, many gracious members of First United Methodist Church, MS Wildlife Fisheries and Parks, and numerous volunteers. A special thanks for the tireless efforts of Cliff Brumfield. Congratulations to the Race Festival Drawing Winners and thank you to CenterPoint Energy, The Human Performance Center, Mr. Joe of Just Kiddin', Airrus Rod Company of Texas, Home Depot, and private donors for the outstanding prizes.

In 2008, Blair E Batson cared for 1,400 children from Lincoln County and the Race Festival was a great way to show our appreciation for our state's only children's hospital by raising funds while watching outstanding cyclist race through Brookhaven.

Plans are already underway for next year's Race Festival which promises to be bigger and better. Please make plans join us then in watching the GranPrix and enjoying the Race Festival in support of Batson.
