Just Kiddin' Summer Camps

2008 Summer Camps were so much fun, Just Kiddin' decided to do it again in 2009. 

Summer Camps for 2009 will be week-long events with fun, hands-on learning experiences each afternoon from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. Field Trips are scheduled for Fridays and parental participation is encouraged. The times of these Field Trips vary. Each Summer Camp will be limited to 25 participants. Camps are $100 each with a $50 deposit required to hold a position.

Sign-up sheets are ready in Just Kiddin', so be sure to secure your position as soon as possible.

Even if you attended Space Camp 2008, you don't want to miss this year's adventure! Returning Second Lieutenants will hold their rank and have the opportunity to advance to Captain.

Special Summer Workshops

Just Kiddin' Special Summer Workshops will be one-day events for kids to enjoy from 1:00 to 4:00 pm..

Just Kiddin' Space Camp 2009

Beta One / June 22 - 26

Beta Two / July 13 - 17

Spend a week discovering the fascinating world of space travel, propulsion and out of the box creativity. A Field Trip to Stennis Space Center will be made on Friday. Departure Times will be 7:00 am for Beta One and 8:00 am for Beta Two. While at Stennis, Cadets will experience the Experimentation Station Presentation about life in space, visit the launch pad, view models of NASA Rockets, and enjoy lunch at the Rocketeria.

Just Kiddin' has been working hard to put together exciting things for the kids of Brookhaven and surrounding communities to enjoy during 2009.

Be sure to keep an eye out for Special Events throughout the year! 

Currently under consideration is the First Annual Just Kiddin' Automoblox 50.

Please don't forget about the MS GranPrix and the welcoming of Blair E Baton Children's Hospital Champion to Brookhaven. Just Kiddin' is proud to be a part of organizing festivities to coincide with the Downtown Brookhaven portion of the GranPrix.

Come welcome Summertime in style.

Enjoy games such as Rock Collecting, Feather on the Wind, and even a Scavenger Hunt.

Get ready for Summer by designing your personal Summer Logo on a t-shirt. Whether it's a palm tree, a surf board, a baseball, or a flip-flop, it will be your own Logo for Summer 2009.

Favors, Prizes, Snacks and Beverages will be available.

1st Camp / June 1 - 5

2nd Camp / July 20 - 24

Learn about wildlife in our area lake habitats, fishing tips and tackle, and how to "hook the big ones". Presentations will made by Mississippi Museum of Natural Science and Mississippi Wildlife Fisheries and Parks. Surprise appearances are being scheduled to educate and encourage the young Anglers. A "Gone Fishing" field Trip will be held on Friday from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm at Lake Lincoln State Park. Lunch will be served on the Field Trip. Gander Mountain is excited to be returning to visit with the "Anglers" on the Field Trip again this year.

Decorate the Patio

Tuesday, June 30

Turn your patio into an excellent place to chill this Summer by designing wonderful art gallery to exhibit. Put your imagination and creativity to work making funky patio decorations. Wind chimes can be made out of just about anything metal and we are gonna see what your imagination comes up with. Eye Catchers made out of colorful beads and mirrors. Sun Catchers to meet the first rays of the day with a smile and dance with them all day.

Snacks and Beverages will be available.

Armed Forces Camp

June 15 - 19

Enhance your American Pride by learning about the different branches and ranks for the US Military. Study battle equipment employed by our soldiers. Gain outstanding knowledge of what it takes to keep our great country free. A Field Trip to Camp Shelby will be made on Friday from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm. While at Camp Shelby, the recruits will see military vehicles up close and personal, tour the museum, eat lunch with the "Brass", and plans are to have a hands-on experience with a M-1 Abrams.

Ceramics Camp

July 6 - 10

Enjoy hands-on learning while creating your own masterpieces.

Mold it - Clean it - Fire it - Paint it

Study and use the different types of paints and glazes used in making Ceramics. Campers will start with both 'slip' and 'green ware' to create a number of pieces to personalize with colors and designs.

Field Trip for this Camp is yet to be determined.

Pamper Me Pretty

Friday, July 3

The perfect afternoon to get ready for the Independence Day Weekend.

Indulge yourself in a professional pedicure complete with designs painted on your toenails. Use your creativity and style in making anklets and bracelets with colorful beads and charms. Design your own t-shirt print using fabric markers. You may create your own design or use patriotic and and summertime templates.

Snacks and Beverages will be available.

Other activities are yet to be determined in creating this wonderful Pamper Me Pretty experience.
